We engaged Manu from Next Level Building & Construction right at the beginning of our renovation and extension journey. Manu was instrumental in shaping our ideas—he started by sketching a floor plan of our existing home on grid paper, then worked with us to overlay concepts based on our conversations. This collaborative approach helped us visualise what was possible, and together we landed on a solid concept to take to our designer.
Throughout the consenting process, Manu continued to support us and provided a detailed and transparent quotation for the work ahead. Once construction began, the Next Level team were professional and respectful—something we especially appreciated as we were still living in the house during the early stages of the build.
As with many renovation projects, we ran into some unexpected issues—specifically, damaged and rotten timber framing that wasn’t visible until the team opened up the walls. Manu clearly explained the additional work required and gave us upfront expectations around the potential cost. When the variation invoice came in, it was completely transparent and easy to understand, which we really appreciated. There were no surprises, just honest communication.
When it came time to break through to the existing part of the house, we had to move out, which was a bit stressful with a young family just before Christmas. Manu assured us we’d be back in by the holidays—and he delivered. We were absolutely over the moon to be home in time to celebrate Christmas in our new space.
It’s now been over four years since we moved back in, and we still love our fully renovated and extended home just as much as we did on day one. We’re incredibly grateful for the effort and care Manu and the team put into the project. Since then, we’ve referred them to friends and family—who’ve had the same great experience.
